A lot of people have been asking where I was and when I am actually bothered enough to reply (my mobile has been quite filled with sms’s- I did not mean to be rude but please understand that the unnecessary merely weakens the will), I often just say that I’m in camp Marinovich for the midterms. And I get bemused reactions. So for those people who do not know what that means, here it is.
I’m presently having a break from camp Marinovich for the midterms- at any rate I would just like to say, not farewell… but see you later to a class act.
Something NBC isn’t. Something that other guy never was, never is and never will be.
I’m going into camp for midterms, using the Marinovich method, ala BJ Penn, to be truly worthy of being the Victorian Prodigy (what that means, I really don’t know haha). At any rate, I’m disappearing for awhile but here are two videos that remind me of home.
First one is from the Fold, concerning that whole douchebaggery/lack of integrity/lack of class inflicted upon our dear Coco.
Second is a cover of Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” by what is arguably, my kitschiest obsession with regards to music… so far.
I am racing to complete my review for a rather sudden yet not so surprising, 40 per cent of the midterms, quiz on Persons and Family Relations- my favourite subject! Seriously! I like it so much I’m taking it for the third time-homosexuals not being able to marry freely despite the absence of harm! Remnants of misogyny everywhere! How can I not not like such a subject! (in case density is your middle name, I really really was being sarcastic there).
Oh well. My head is screwed straight now. No more complaining. It is about the hours, it is about the work. I am the Victorian Prodigy. Suck it up RAF. Focus. Do. Win. Remember who you are doing this for.
In the meantime, for your pleasure, there’s this Irish foursome with their memorable and famous tribute to a great man, especially given the importance of today (no it’s not the Golden Globes):
…another great video from Aniboom- a music video from Gentry Morris:
…and finally, the elephant in the room. I wanted to discuss this much further (perhaps on the weekend as I am up to my neck on void and voidable marriages and legal separation), but in the meantime, here’s a great take by Apoplectic Fittz on TheRestrainingOrder.Com
Oh yeah. Before I forget. In case you haven’t heard or seen it on the telly, an earthquake devastated Haiti, and courtesy of NPR and Rojo Apparel, here are a few ways on how you can help those who had been affected by the calamitous tragedy.
I am presently taking a break from going all out in studying summons- I want to master that particular rule on how pleadings and orders are served. As I am not allowed much time, here are a few links for your pleasure today:
The Brown Eyed Girls (I am seriously bemused on whether my musical tastes for the new year declined or appreciated…) performing the hypnotic, mesmerising “Sign”- I think the fans are to blame.
From the Brovcencos and the Balaceanus, courtesy of Aniboom, an intriguing introduction to a heartwarming soon to be told tale of a pig in search of something truly valuable.
And finally, Narsha doing what she does best. I don’t know what it is exactly… but don’t you think it’s just breathtaking?
숨이 가빠 Mayday dot dot dot dot dot 맘이 아파 Mayday dot dot dot dot dot 시간은 또 Tic Toc 흘러만 가 Tic Toc 들리니 내 sign sign dot dot dot dot dot!
I was reciting for a good part of an hour the other day on procedure; I could not speak properly and articulate my answers well enough as my throat was still sore and well… I was really rambling for a good part, running on stock knowledge, as the codal provisions I had read never really sunk in- the paracetamol was going on overdrive and my brain was in a spin. But those are just excuses. What really killed me was this song playing in my head…
♥ 브라운아이드걸스 !!!
(Doesn’t that dance step kill?)
Hahaha. At any rate (Gain and Narsha reminding me of two former bloc mates aside), I still think it’s a rather mint song. Accordingly, here’s another performance by them coupled with “Candyman”:
And here’s FreshGalaxy’s mashup with Drake and Trey Songz’ “Replacement Girl”:
Have a great weekend everyone- I’m hoping to finally beat this bug, the Tide to win, get back to work, and watch the Reds beat Spurs!
I am a bit chuffed- despite suffering from a virus during the break and watching the rather dire FA Cup draw last night, I am getting better, aided obviously by some classless, shite team dumped out of the competition by their third-division rivals. Anyway, for my first post of the year, here are two links for your reading pleasure:
The Keystone Cops Meet the Parents
Leon T. Hadar of the Cato Institute tackles the problem of security and intelligence (or lack thereof) in a humourous yet insightful piece over at the Huffington Post, in light of the recent attempt to commit another senseless act of violence and the failure of authorities to discover such a plot in time.
From Playboy, Aram Rostom writes a shocking article on the ineptitude and just the sheer incompetence of agencies and bureaucracies (you know who you are) in assessing threats and their reliance on quite frankly, shite assets out of convenience, laziness, stupidity…perhaps all three.
I want to fade into Bolivia so I can be inside the Andes. Hee hee!
My last post of the year- what a mixed bag this year (as with all years anyway) turned out to be, lots of victories, a few defeats, but all in all, I’m a bit cleaner and wiser and happier, and I hopefully turned out to be a better person for all it’s worth. At any rate, I wanted to share a compilation of goals scored by one of my favourite players, Fernando “El Nino” Torres. Last night against Villa, he notched not only a last-gasp match winner but also his fiftieth league goal- a milestone more appreciated by the fact that he is the fastest Liverpool FC player to accomplish such a feat (only in 72 games and 63 starts, and all in open play!). As such, from the craft and genius of a certain MilanKakaBaros (one of the most talented editors out there- look for him in Youtube), I present El Nino’s fifty…
